Mentor Workshops are designed for the painter who is established, looking to take an intense look into their own process, and one seeking guidance of how to make their own style, visual language, and conceptual framework stronger. You've taken the classes. You know how to paint, but how do you paint in a way that feels, in your bones, like you are called to? For me, understanding and choosing my own technical and personal framework was a game changer for my career and Mentor Workshops are designed to help painters discover that for themselves.

We spend four to five full days painting, working through studies, exploring techniques that are customized for each painter, and having intense discussions around process, idea, and execution. Some painters come and simply want to create for the week and get feedback on technique, others come with an idea and look for guidance in how to express that idea in their own way. The combination of time to work, focus, discussion, and feedback make Mentor Workshops ideal for the serious painters.

The November workshop will be a special event coinciding with the opening of my two month Wooglians Land of Ardithian Collaborative Show in November at the Mobile Arts Council. Special viewing of the show, party, and attendance of opening night will be part of the workshop experience.

Paints, pigments, mediums, and watercolor paper are provided, and you can ship ahead canvas if you choose. You get 24/7 access to my studio to work at your timeframe, and we hold class from 9-4 every day. Some nights we gather for dinner, others you are on your own and each day we break for an hour for lunch. Although lunches are not provided, there is a full kitchen and we typically share during the week. Beverages and snacks are provided for the week.

Mentor workshops also come with a one-on-one Zoom meeting prior to the workshop so that we can set goals, help me understand how to customize your needs, and give us a chance to connect with questions and answers.

Cost of the four day is $1000

Cost of the five day is $1250

Cost of the November special event workshop is $1500

No refunds will be offered 4 weeks prior to the workshop, but you can find a person to take your spot or put your funds toward an original piece of artwork.
