I hear it often and from many, "I want to paint with more energy in my work". My first question is always, what do you mean by that....energy?

For the past two decades I have been fascinated by different types of energy and systems, as well as how to render them through my own creative lenses. I also am lover of science and tapping into the amazing world we are part of to fuel me creatively is something I love. Teaching other painters and creatives how to explore, define, and apply their versions of beautifully different and interesting when it come to energy is whatThe Journal of Interesting Shifting Inertia is all about.

It's an online course over 5 weeks combining video based learning, live sessions, written curriculum, self-study, and an engaged online classroom of other creatives on a similar path. Pull up a chair and hear more about it.

Who Is This Course For?

Painters who are ready to define their own understanding of energy and how they wish to visually express it

Painters willing to use a working journal as a physical space to write, research, explore, and create page strategies to creatively problem solve
Painters ready to trust their own points of view and express them with their own visual language
Painters who have time to commit to 6 weeks of focus and study around the topic of energy, its systems, and how they can be expressed through brush stroke, color, line, form, pattern, and texture in abstract ways

Although I work in acrylic and mixed media, the lessons and teaching instruction are designed to serve any medium. You can choose watercolor, textiles, oils, assemblage etc. and still gain the knowledge of how to build YOUR VERSION that you seek.
